A quick review shows that in spite of an 8% increase in Motorcycle DMV transactions the death toll on Bikers remained the same as 2006 at a total of 550. Still far too high and making up 17% of the accident deaths on Florida highways.
2006 shows 521 Motorcyclist and 29 Passengers lost their lives. 2007 shows 517 Motorcyclist and 33 Passengers lost their lives.
Overall crash totals were also below the motorcycle growth at 2.4% over 2006 with a total of 9,205.
The break down on 2007 Deaths with or without Helmet Use is: 58% had helmets on 42% were not wearing a helmet
